We've provided the APWA color code chart for marking underground utilities with marking flags. The American Public Works Association color chart for underground utility marking is as follows: white marking flags mark for proposed excavation, pink is for survey markings, red represents electrical utilities buried, yellow flags are for gas, oil and steam, orange is to mark communications lines, blue is for water irrigation, purple marking flags show where there are reclaimed water utilities, and green marks sewers and drains.
